Skincare Review #4: The Korean Konjac Facial Sponge… With Gudetama!

Hey guys, today I’ll be reviewing my new Korean Konjac Sponge by the Konjac Sponge Company and I’m very excited about it. As usual, I would like to mention a little bit about the company before we get started.

The Konjac sponge Company is a British company that get their products manufactured authentically in South Korea. Their products are both cruelty free and vegan friendly and have won multiple awards for their “often copied but never bettered” sponges. They are also proudly committed to producing natural and pure skincare products from ethical and pollutant free materials. If you’d like to learn more about The Konjac Sponge Company, click here

Gudetama (licensed by Sanrio) is one of the latest super-cute Japanese characters from an animated children’s show… in the form of a lazy little egg :3.  AMAZING! So without further ado, let’s get ourselves acquainted with the packaging

Front of the box, featuring Gudetama! It also comes with a little adhesive Gudetama hook to hang your sponge on :3 oh, and a handy use and care guide in 16 languages!

Honestly, I absolutely love the simplicity of the packaging (and the little egg guy on the front, of course), it looks natural and pure, which reflects the company’s philosophy.

Back of the box pretty much tells you everything you need to know, whilst looking super cute and beautifully simplistic!

The back of the box is also very simple but very visually pleasing with little illustrations showing you how to use the product, in addition to a list of things that you can expect from the sponge.

Waiting for my dreamy little sponge to hydrate.

The texture of the sponge when wet on your hands weirds me out a little bit, but oh my gawd it feels amazing on your face! I decided to try the sponge alone without any cleansing products to really get a feel of how well it works. After rubbing the sponge across my face, it feels polished and silky smooth. I think that this method of exfoliation is super easy and also means I don’t end up find crispy granules from my usual exfoliant products in my ears and hair later on (just me? okay then).

The company recommend that you use the product twice daily, which I will so happily do because I am super impressed *and in love* with this product and I cannot believe I didn’t try out Konjac Sponges sooner! For this particular sponge, the retail price is £10.99 and they also do packaging free alternatives for £8.99. I’m already thinking about investing in their reusable makeup remover pads as I’m slowly but consciously trying to make little changes to live in a more environmentally friendly way.

This review has been short and oh so sweet because I simply cannot find fault with this product.

…and P.S

UPDATE: I’m still using these sponges everyday. I’ve tried other konjac sponges too but every time I come back to this same company.
